ANOTHER IRISH TITLE

With Simon McKinley on hand in the Lant-Warrior, a good scrap was in prospect to decide the weekend's winner. On this hill, it was to be Simon's weekend, but the year once again belonged to Paul OConnell.

With Sylvie Mullins and the Gould GR37 away at a race meeting, O'Connell needed just two good results in the Delta-Warrior to clinch the 2009 title. The weekend's event worked to his favour. His own results plus McKinley's win helped him to a hat-trick of titles.
