MARCHING ON AT BRANDS
23 May 2009
Having decided to do the BrandsHatch Proto sportscar race in his March-BDG 74S, Doug Hart was a happy man after practice having secured pole position on the Grand Prix track by some 1.5sec!
The first race saw Hart pull out a commanding lead of 35sec, only to be held up when the Safety Car came out near the end of the race. He was then unable to prevent a passing move by Simon Hadfield with DFV V8 power. So it was second place to Doug this time, but Connaught still did well with Mark Williams finishing third in his Vogue-BDG.

The second race was not to be for Hart, as with electrical and fuel pipe problems he would finish only fourth, but once again Williams was close behind in fifth and very happy with his results after his third place at Donington a month earlier.
For the next round, Connaught will have even more engines on the grid, with a number of customers encouraged by what they have seen in the championship.
