CER SPA

7 May 2009

After a good midweek practice session, the Wilkins / Catlow Lola and the Busst/Freeman Chevron were on good form for the second round of the Classic Endurance Championship at Spa. Both pairs of drivers were looking to increase their championship standings after the great results of Barcelona.
After some small problems had been overcome with the aid of  the telephone, the pair of cars were in good starting positions of fifth and twelfth - not bad in a field of 55 at the fast Spa circuit.
The one hour race went well for all . Good driver changes at the halfway point saw no time lost. But with the safety car out and another competitor sidelined out on the track in a dangerous position, the race was stopped one lap early. This worked well for both pairs of drivers, who finished the race in third and ninth places overall.
Both are looking forward for more good results at the new circuit in the Algarve in July.
