RECORD YEAR FOR JONES

Hillclimber Richard Jones capped an unbeaten year in his historic Connaught/BDA powered Brabham BT29X by breaking his own Loton Park class record by almost a second at September's British Hillclimb finale. Jones, who also holds records at Prescott, Shelsley Walsh, Gurston Down and Harewood, has now taken the Brabham to Championship titles in the Midland Hillclimb Championship's Pre-1972 Classic Racing Car class for the last eight consecutive years.
