Richard Jones finally achieved a long held ambition at last weekend's Midland Championship hillclimb at Loton Park, breaking Peter Voigt's pre-1972 racing car record by over half a second in his Brabham-Connaught/BDA. The record had stood to Voigt's ex.Roy Lane Techcraft-Buick V8 since 2004 and in breaking it, Jones now holds all the records that Voigt had previously set at the original three Midland hills, Loton Park, Shelsley Walsh and Prescott. Together with the record he established at Gurston Down after the Wiltshire hill entered the Midland Championship in 2012, his Brabham now holds the class record at every one of the series' four host venues.
