Spa 6 Hours

With the 1-hour saloon race held in monsoon conditions, the Spa 6 hours this year proved a lottery for many competitors.

But conditions improved for the HSCC Sportscar race. This gave third placed Bob Brooks an opportunity to make the most of a great start into the first corner. When several competitors went off there, his Connaught BDG 2.0lt Lola 212 pulled away from the pack. This meant that a good drive would certainly improve the chances of a win, which is exactly what happened.

The 5-year wait in rebuilding the Lola had paid off! The fresh engine worked well and the drive was perfect.
