ANOTHER RECORD FOR JONES

Driving his historic ex.Tony Griffiths Brabham BT29X with 1800cc Connaught BDA power, Richard Jones erased another of Peter Voigt's long-standing pre-1971 historic racing class records with the TechCraft-Buick, resetting the mark by fourteen hundredths of a second at Prescott's June Midland Championship round. The only class record on the Midland hills which is not now Jones' property is at Loton Park, where he will hope to annex it at September's British and Midland Championship finale in September. Also at Prescott, Rodney Eyles continued his unbeaten run of wins in the pre-1985 class with his Pilbeam- Hart Connaught MP53, moving up to second overall out of 100 current points scorers in the BMTR Tyres Midland Hillclimb Championship.
