HISTORIC CHAMPIONS ON A ROLL

2013 Historic class champions Richard Jones and Tony Eyles carried on where they left off last year, taking consecutive class wins in the opening two rounds of the Midland Hillclimb Championship at Prescott and Shelsley Walsh. Eyles, who runs his Pilbeam MP53 in the pre-1986 racing class, is running a bigger Hart 4-cylinder unit this year,a 2.8 originally built by Connaught for Irishman Paul O'Connell. Jones' ex.Tony Griffiths Brabham BT29X (pictured at Prescott by Eddie Walder) runs in the pre-1972 class and this year features a new Connaught built 1800cc Cosworth BDA, replacing his earlier 1600cc engine.
