EYLES RIGHT - AGAIN!

21 October 2013

Driving his 2.7 Connaught/Hart powered Pilbeam MP53, Rodney Eyles has finished fourth overall in the Midland Hillclimb Championship and secured the series'  pre-1986 Racing class title for the third consecutive year.  2013 was the first year that the three-times British Sprint champion had won it driving  his ex.Roy Lane  MP53 chassis, having previously run his 2.7 Hart in the Ralt RT3 in which he won the British Sprint series in 1986. Rodney has recently acquired the 2.8 Hart, also built by CCE, which successful Irish hillclimb championship contender Paul O'Connell ran in his ex.Jim Robinson MP58. The Westcountryman will run this engine in the MP53 next year in a bid to make it four in a row!
