WEEKEND DOUBLE FOR CROSSE

Fyrth Crosse, driving his historic ex.Mike Wilds Formula 3 Ensign with Connaught-built Ford Twincam, took back-to back wins in the Historic class at Gurston Down's season opening double-header hillclimb. With both drivers former class record-holders, Saturday's 8-strong class saw Crosse's regular sparring partner Geoff Hunt chasing hard in his Lotus 22 to close within sixteen hundredths of a second. However Crosse pulled out around threequarters of a second to win their Sunday duel, finishing just outside the top 10 in the opening round of the popular Gurston Down hillclimb championship.
