Classic Le Mans

In a rain hit event, together with  very changeable track conditions, none of the CCE competing cars managed to complete the three race competition! But in a fantasic last race for the pairing, the Lola T296 of Kevin Wilkins and Mike Catlow came through from the back of the grid  to 14th overall, passing some 50 cars during the ten-lap race. This was enough to get the Team of all Car 5s from the 6 classes to the team award.

In the same race, the Doug Titford Ford Capri was doing very well to lead the 'saloon' class until it retired with head gasket failure just one lap from the end, thus putting paid to their usual good two-yearly  result ! Misfortune also befel the Chevron B31 of Russ Busst when the oil pump belt failed after race two. So now it's a two year wait for the next running of the event...
